Apple is taking a tip from Nintendo as it designs its new wand-like remote. An accelerometer may be used to track movements of the device to control a cursor on the screen.
Similar to the 'wiimote', Apple's still-in-development remote is rumored to have embedded devices used to track it's own motion. The idea of moving to a cursor, instead of five buttons, opens up Apple TV to many exciting opportunities including games and photo editing programs. News of the wand was leaked after a patent filing was published this week.
